Dr. Jose Francisco Simon Hinojosa, a graduate of the Complutense de Madrid’s University and a specialist in sports medicine for competition horses in all equestrian disciplines, opens the doors of his veterinary clinic “Sport-Vets Clinic” at the Escuela de Arte Ecuestre Costa Del Sol, and heading his team of specialists in Equine Medicine, offers the most professional high quality care services for your horses.
The life of Dr. José Francisco Simo revolves and has always revolved around horses. His father, much involved in the equine sector, introduced him to this world and at the early age of 12 he already became the champion of Catalonia in the young riders’ category. He made his debut at the racetrack, as he turned 16 years, the minimum age requirement to compete in a track and gave early proof of his abilities. During the Pineda season, he was voted best amateur rider at the Real Club Pineda in Seville. From there on, his rise amongst the amateurs led him to the culminating point in his career: To win the Spanish Championship and with it, the opportunity to compete in the race-tracks of Europe and U.S.A.

In addition to being Spain’s Champion of Gentleman for several years, in both flat and obstacle course races, in 1989 he was the world’s champion of Gentleman Riders” in “Eperon de Vermeil” as well as being one of few Spanish riders participating in England’s renowned “Grand National”. Furthermore, he competed in obstacle races held in the most important race-tracks in the world, as Auteuil in Paris, Baden-Baden in Germany, Pardubice in the Czech Republic, etc.
